The former Galt Public Library - this beaux-arts beauty was built around 1903, helped by a grant from the Andrew Carnegie Foundation. It was designed by Galt architect Fred Mellish, whose many local works included the old Galt Hospital & the Galt Fire Hall along with a number of residences. The Library was closed in 1967 when it's modernist replacement was built across the Grand River in Queen's Square.
