Multiple traffic concerns in the area were brought up during council discussions. Council approved the project but consensus was something needed to be done by Region of Waterloo to address traffic back-up that already exists in the Main Street and Chalmers Street area ahead of this building going up.

"It sounds like gunshots" said a nearby resident of bird bangers fired several times a week to keep geese from nesting in Riverside Park. The city says it has asked its contractor to stop the practice immediately after fielding several complaints.

According to the 2021 Census data, 91.9 per cent of Cambridge residents use a vehicle to get around and only 3.4 per cent use transit. That's compared to 6.2 per cent in Kitchener and 6.5 per cent in Waterloo. Transit use is even higher than Cambridge in Guelph at 4.7 per cent. What do you think needs to happen to get more residents of this city on board Grand River Transit?

If the $100,000 threshold for the Sunshine List was adjusted for inflation, it would be a little over $180,000. The 100k benchmark hasn't changed since it was introduced in 1996.
Should the Sunshine List change to adjust for inflation? For context, I would have turned 4 years old when it was introduced.

The proposed industrial development was approved with conditions to build a concrete fence and holding off on development near Speedsville until improvements are made. It will eventually add to the already booming industrial area seen north of the 401. Nearby residents at the meeting, many who said they predate the industrial development, said the area is already at capacity and aren't looking forward to more traffic in the area.
