The former Hespeler Town Hall was built in 1914 in the Beaux Arts style. The building, which still houses a firehall and the Hespeler Heritage Centre, also once included a police statio & jail along with municipal and other government offices. The town hall became redundant when Hespeler merged with Galt and Preston to form the City of Cambridge in 1973 but is still a prominent part of Hespeler Village. It received a heritage designation in 1981.
