Sixty-four years ago today saw the Galt Terriers win the first ever Canadian senior hockey championship for Galt. The Terriers defeated the Winnipeg Moroons 5-1 in the fifth game of the Allan Cup Finals in only their second year of existence. On the way to the national championship the Terriers, led by captain Butch Martin and coached by Lloyd Roubell, won 19 of their final games.
