This rubbled limestone house in the Georgian/Mennonite style was built around 1861 for Issac Bergey. Issac arrived in the area of what would become Hespeler as a young boy when his parents, Michael and Susan Bergey, traveled from Pennsylvania to work the land they had recently purchased.
The Bergeys original log home, built in 1830, still exists next door, although it's currently incognito, covered in board and batten. It is believed to be the oldest home in Hespeler.
