World War 2 veteran and Galt native Lex Chisholm was born on this date in 1915. Lex played his junior hockey with the Galt Terrier Pups from 1932-34 and the Oshawa Generals in 1934-35. He then played 4 seasons with the Oshawa G-Men Sr. team and in 1939 he led the OHA in scoring. Lex turned pro with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1939 playing in 61 games. He had all the makings of a star when WW II intervened. After going into active duty with the army his best hockey years were behind him and Lex never played another game in the NHL.
