The Waterloo Region Record – Lyle S. Hallman Foundation Kids to Camp Fund awards $5,000 to Focus on Nature

GUELPH, ON – Focus on Nature is pleased to announce that The Waterloo Region Record – Lyle S. Hallman Foundation Kids to Camp Fund, held at Waterloo Region Community Foundation, has generously awarded $5,000 to support their nature and arts summer camp programming for their Waterloo Region community.

“The Waterloo Region Record - Lyle S. Hallman Foundation Kids to Camp Fund provides funding to help reduce financial barriers so children and youth across our communities can attend summer camps,” says Eric Avner, President & CEO, Waterloo Region Community Foundation. “As a result, more kids across Waterloo Region benefit from great camping experiences, like the ones offered through Focus on Nature.”

“This is very exciting that we’ve been awarded this funding,” said Alexandria Benitez, Focus on Nature’s Executive Director. “We hope that it will help continue to build and connect to our Waterloo Region community, help sustain local families in participating in our camps, and foster a love and appreciation for nature and photography in students who participate in our programs.”

Focus on Nature is a Registered Charity based in Guelph, Ontario, that delivers school-based nature photography programs that inspire young people to connect with the natural world and develop their own creative potential.
