Hot Spot Feature of the week...

The Birds Of Riverside Park

Just a few of the birds you can see at Riverside Park right here in Cambridge!

A great all year round hot spot, with different species in different seasons

And with the spring migration just getting started we are bound to see some rare visitors passing through

To access the boardwalk, park in the lot at the end of Russ St. off of Eagle and then follow the trail that is along the fenced off area

The trail to the right as you enter the lot has some great woodland birds and the ocassional egret or heron

American Gold Finch / in mid change as it molts into it's bright spring plumage!Coopers Hawk. When he is around, the others scatter!Brown Headed Cowbird, Male...these birds lay thier eggs in other species nests and leave the hard work of raising young to others!Gold Crown Kinglet, passing throughCoopers Hawk flying overNorthern Cardinal FemaleBlack Capped Chickadee, hold you hand out with food and they will land on it!Blue Jay. Nerd fact, they have now blue pigment!, instead the prismic feathers create the blue colourDowny Wood Pecker. House Sparrow, MaleNorthern Cardinal, FemaleNorthern Cardinal, FemaleWhite Breasted NuthatchGreat Egret.  A magnificent bird to see wading in shallow waters
