Tufted Titmouse October 2023 FWR Dickson Wildlife Area
The Tufted Titmouse is a rare resident in Ontario, typically remaining south of Lake Erie. However, in 2022, a pair was observed at FWR Dickson Wildlife Area, just outside our city.
By 2023, their numbers had grown to five, and some birding enthusiasts report that the family may have since increased to as many as nine.
This has drawn birdwatchers from Toronto and beyond, eager for the opportunity to observe it and add it to their life list.
FWR Dickson Wildlife Area, located at 699 N. Dumfries TWP Rd 5 in Ayr, offers excellent birding opportunities for both casual observers and dedicated birding enthusiasts.
