It was a nice day in Oxford County to take a road trip to ,the Red Dragon Dairy Farm Market. My mission, was to get some of their local lamb. I found a perfect package of lamb rack chops. Some shoulder steaks for a tasty lamb Rogan Josh curry
This time I prepared a Mederterainian Style BBQ Lamb Lolli-Pops. Cut rack into single bone chops and marinate with some olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, basil, rosemary with some grated orange rind and …

Sweetie and I were on a quest searching the area nurseries for some spring flora. Ended in Tillsonburg and we decided to enjoy a nibble and a nip at the Mill Restaurant.
One of my favourite appetizers prepared there is the battered asparagus with Chef Brian's most excellent dip. Love the user friendly eatery and the porch over looking the river is most excellent. The Fish and Chips are worthy of the trip.

Today it finally was a perfect day to visit one of my favourite eateries. For the past 20 years being a Browns Social House loyal diner when I lived in BC and traveled the other western provinces. I loved how all the different location kitchens served exact consistent menu fare that tasted exactly the same in each location. That's a hard thing to accomplish. One example the Social Coctail mixed by the two Amigos Kevin and Graham.
My sweetie …

My latest visit to Azores Bakery for their most excellent mouthwatering Portuguese Custard Tarts still are a 10 plus in my books. The buttertarts are mighty fine also. My first time was when they were located on Warnock St for their crusty rolls and custard tarts. Decades of quality still can be found here. The hot take out has some tasty meals perfect for dinner tonite.

My sweetie and I celbrated our Easter holiday fish dinner at Captain George's locatrd at the Dundas Beverly Roundabout Cambridge. A generous portion of halibut and chips perfectly hand dipped fried is pure homemade comfort food. On my last visits I totaly enjoyed the fried shrimp, clams with a center cut portion of cod. The hand cut fries are perfectly executed as was the coleslaw.
The menu has something for everybody. I must say that Captain …

One of my favourite Easter treats are these scrumptious lite and tasty Fruity Buns. Hot Cross Bunnies!
They make a nice side, buttered with a good cup of tea.
I added lots of different dried fruits with this retro recipe. They all taste great.
This recipe is simple to do and if you have no mixer can be done in a bowl by hand like the old days.
Enjoy the satisfaction and the smiles you will get when you take the time to bake-up a batch.

My latest try of local food spots was Latinoamerica Unida in Galt. As a big fan of burritos, I feel I have high standards of them.
This carnitas burrito was top notch. The biggest compliment I could give for it is how fresh it was. Definitely worth a try.
I'm still fairly new to Cambridge, what are some of your favourite spots that I should try? There's very little that I don't like or willing to try.

While downtown checking out the swollen Grand River rushing along decided to have a bowl of Mama Jean's Kitchen Hot & Sour Soup for lunch. I started with a crispy egg roll that with some hot mustard was excellent. My soup was just like my last visit. Nice chunks of tofu, slivers of bbq pork, dried shrimp and a terrific broth. Hit all the right flavour notes.
I'll be back

Stuffed Baked Potato w/ Pulled Saucy Braised Short Ribs.
To braise the ribs I added a can of stewed tomatoes, ketchup, mustard and soya sauce. Crock Pot for 6 hours till it falls of the bone. Bake a few spuds, chop-chop some fresh parsley and green onion. The au jus cooking sauce is mighty fine.

While I was downtown in Preston I stopped in to the PIZZA-IOLO on King Street for my first time. Being one who loves his pizza, my visit was a very tasty experience.
I liked the topping selection of the take away slices but the small personal hand tossed pepperoni was my choice. Zeel the owner prepared my order with precision as she stretched and hand formed a nice crust.
Their pizza sauce is a zesty tomato blend and the cheese topping was …
