My back yard feeder has a new visitor this season. A Pileated Woodpecker has taken over the feeder and this bird the size of a crow can eat its weight in suet. The former Hespeler Town Hall was built in 1914 in the Beaux Arts style. The building, which still houses a firehall and the Hespeler Heritage Centre, also once included a police statio & jail along with municipal and other government offices. My latest visit to Azores Bakery for their most excellent mouthwatering Portuguese Custard Tarts still are a 10 plus in my books. The buttertarts are mighty fine also. My first time was when they were located on Warnock St for their crusty rolls and custard tarts. Decades of quality still can be found here. The hot take out has some tasty meals perfect for dinner tonite.
