Morris Lutz House, c. 1849 - Cambridge, ON
This 3-bay Georgian house, made of locally-sourced rubbled limestone, sits along the east bank of the Grand River on Water St.
The American-born Lutz arrived in Galt around 1844 and quickly established himself as a community leader in the new settlement. He became a part-owner of Galt's first foundry and was elected to Galt's first council when it became an incorporated village in 1850.

This rubbled limestone house in the Georgian/Mennonite style was built around 1861 for Issac Bergey. Issac arrived in the area of what would become Hespeler as a young boy when his parents, Michael and Susan Bergey, traveled from Pennsylvania to work the land they had recently purchased.
The Bergeys original log home, built in 1830, still exists next door, although it's currently incognito, covered in board and batten. It is believed to be the
